The Charities Something Simple Represents

Tom Sanderson and Robert Platt are rowing across the English Channel in aid of two charities. These charities are Kids Company and Skills for Living. Information on these charities can be found below.



Kids Company



Kids Company provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people. Many of the children who come to Kids Company have suffered severe cases of trauma and neglect, often living in chronic deprivation, with little or no support.

 

Kids Company offer a safe, caring, family environment in which children’s behavior is understood in the context of their emotional pain and life experiences. They currently operate in South London, as well as offering therapeutic and social work services in 33 schools in deprived areas.

 


Skills for Living



Skills for Living is a registered charity in the US, the UK and Kenya that works directly to improve communities in Kenya. Skills for Living works directly with communities to build central establishments that bring growth and prosperity to those in the community.

In 2007 Skills for Living helped; 5 more Churches, Roofed 1 church, Built a Sunday School building, bought 3 parcels of land, built 3 Pastor’s homes, Built 1 school, trained 58 Leaders and secured Vehicles for the Executive Team
